Ceviche was very good, but many people were choosing grill dishes, which looked quite nice as well, big portions

Excellent peruvian restaurant with an amazing peruvian dishes menu. The midday set meals ara varied with many options to choose from, and including a drink and dessert. The regular menu is outstanding too, and the portions are really abundant. We go there especially for the typical "Ceviche" which is a sort of raw white fish marinated in a delicious lemon sauce, whi h is so delicious you can order it as a simple typical soup as well. It is usually very crowded but it's worth queuing up if you have to. Try it out!!!!

El Rocoto - Barcelona stands as a vibrant beacon of authentic Peruvian cuisine in the heart of Sants-Montjuic. Nestled on Carrer d'Olzinelles, this restaurant offers a rich tapestry of flavors that capture the essence of Peru’s culinary traditions.

The highlight here is undoubtedly the Ceviche Peruano, a dish that embodies freshness and zest, where raw white fish is perfectly marinated in tangy lemon juice—served with a punch of acidity and subtle spice that awakens the palate. Alongside, the Leche de Tigre complements the experience, offering a robust and invigorating citrus marinade that serves as both appetizer and digestive.

For those craving heartier fare, El Rocoto delivers with specialties like Arroz Chaufa Mixto and Bisteck A Lo Pobre, dishes that blend Peruvian flavors with a comforting, home-cooked vibe. The generous portions of grilled delicacies speak to the restaurant’s commitment to satisfying, genuine meals. Dishes such as Pollo a la Brasa Peruano and Lomo Saltado con Espaguetis a la Huancaína showcase the balance between smoky char and vibrant traditional sauces, transporting diners directly to Lima’s bustling streets.

Desserts like Suspiro de Lúcuma hold a special place on the menu, drawing frequent praise from patrons for their rich, sweet finish that pairs beautifully with the spicy starters. The Combinado Arroz Con Leche y Mazamorra Morada offers a textural adventure with creamy rice pudding alongside the purple corn pudding that is unique to Peruvian gastronomy.

The ambiance and culinary craft at El Rocoto have inspired loyalty among its visitors, many of whom emphasize the quality and authenticity of its dishes. Whether it’s the fresh seafood selections like Choritos a la Chalaca or the traditional sides such as Papa a la Huancaína and Yuca Frita, every item delivers bold flavors, generous portions, and a true taste of Peru.

In all, dining at El Rocoto is an immersive experience—one that celebrates robust ingredients, traditional techniques, and a passion for Peruvian culture. This is not just a meal; it’s a journey through Peru’s culinary heart, right in Barcelona.
